Built To Your Room

WE MAKE THE SCREEN FIT THE WALL

A stock screen is a size somebody else picked. This one is cut to the opening you actually have, down to the inch, so the picture fills the wall instead of floating in the middle of it with dead space either side. You tell us the room. We work out the largest screen it will genuinely take, with the clearances a real build needs.

The Head

A RIGID TOP, NOT A CABLE

A projector throws a perfect rectangle. A cable hangs in a curve. Hang a screen on cable alone across a fourteen foot bay and the top edge settles into a shallow arc, and that arc becomes the border of every image you project. We run a rigid member across the head and hold that edge straight. The sides and the bottom still tension the way they should.

Your Ceiling

HEIGHT COSTS YOU NOTHING

Our material comes on a ten foot roll and the screen height runs across it, so a taller room does not use more of it. That means the price is set by your wall width alone. A ten foot ceiling and an eight foot ceiling in the same width room pay the same. Nobody gets charged for having a nicer basement.

In The Box

THE WHOLE HEAD ASSEMBLY, NOT JUST FABRIC

Screen, transition flaps, the rigid head sections, tension cable, turnbuckles, corner pulleys, eyelets and fasteners. The framing ships in lengths that fit a normal parcel, so there is no freight appointment and no waiting on a truck. It goes together with a drill and a level.

Before We Cut

SOMEBODY CHECKS YOUR NUMBERS

This is made to order, so a wrong measurement becomes a wrong screen. Before anything is cut we confirm your dimensions with you directly. It is a short conversation and it has saved more than one room. If something looks off, we would rather find it now than on install day.

Free Shipping

IN THE BOX, NOT ON A PALLET

The head framing ships in sections rather than one long member, which keeps the whole kit inside normal parcel shipping. That is why it arrives in days rather than on a freight schedule, and why shipping is included rather than quoted. Rooms wider than eighteen feet are the exception and we will quote those directly.

From Our SimSquad

THE TOP EDGE IS THE ONE YOU LOOK AT

Everybody obsesses over screen material and nobody thinks about the head. But the top edge is the border of every image you project, and it is the one line in the room your eye checks without being asked. Hang it on cable and it sags, gently, in the middle, and once you have noticed it you cannot stop noticing it. That is the whole reason we put a rigid member up there and hold it to an eighth of an inch. It is not the expensive part of this kit. It is just the part that decides whether the bay looks built or looks rigged.

What is the Built-In Screen Kit?

It is a wall to wall impact screen and head assembly, built to the exact opening in your room. No pipe frame standing in the space, no stock size that nearly fits. The screen mounts into your existing wall and ceiling framing, the rigid head holds the top edge straight, and transition flaps close the gap between the screen and the wall so the bay reads as a finished room rather than a piece of equipment sitting in one.

Why Built-In Instead Of An Enclosure

A freestanding enclosure eats floor space and always looks like a structure you put in a room. A built-in screen disappears into the wall. You get more usable depth, a cleaner room, and a bay that a spouse will tolerate in a finished basement. The trade is that it is permanent and it has to be measured properly, which is why every one of these gets checked by a person before we cut anything.

Not sure your room will take one? Measure it first, then tell us the numbers. If your space is not right for a built-in we will say so rather than sell you one.

Frequently Asked Questions

You do not size the screen, you measure the room and we size the screen. Width, ceiling height and depth, plus anything in the way like a soffit or a beam. The room builder on this page will show you what fits before you order.

The build absorbs a fair amount of error, and we confirm every set of dimensions with you before cutting. If you are unsure, round up rather than down. A screen slightly under your wall is covered by the flaps. A screen slightly over does not hang.

No. The screen height runs across the roll, so a taller room does not consume more material. Price is set by your wall width alone.

The finished screen tops out at 117 inches, which is the roll width less the cable pocket. In a room taller than about ten and a half feet the screen stops climbing and a ceiling flap covers the difference. Past eleven feet a bulkhead is the better answer and we should talk.

The top edge is the visible border of your projected image. A cable spanning fourteen feet sags around an inch at midspan, which puts a shallow curve across the top of every picture. A rigid member holds it straight. The sides and bottom are still cable tensioned.

Yes, if you are comfortable finding ceiling framing and working off a ladder. The head anchors into your joists, the sections bolt together, and the screen ties on. If you would rather not, we install these ourselves.

In a box. The head framing comes in sections rather than one long piece specifically so the kit stays inside normal parcel shipping, which is why it arrives in days instead of on a freight appointment. Rooms over eighteen feet wide are quoted separately.

Wall padding, the projector, the launch monitor, the mat and the turf. This is the screen and its head assembly. If you want the whole bay handled, that is what our design and install team is for.
