Putting green turf is sold by the roll and cut to your space, which is what makes it different from a putting mat. You decide the shape, the size, and where the holes go. It works on a basement floor, in a simulator bay, or outside in the backyard.

Roll speed is the spec that matters
The number to ask about is stimp. Shorter pile rolls faster and reads more like a real green. Longer pile is more forgiving, and forgiving is not what you want from a practice surface. Money Putt runs 10 to 11 with no sand infill, which is in the range of a well kept private course green.
That figure assumes a flat, solid subfloor. Green speed always depends on what is underneath, so an uneven slab or a thick soft pad will change it.

A stand-on hitting mat drops into that build and finishes close to flush, so the edges roll down instead of catching a club.
Measure before you order
The roll is 15 feet wide, so most rooms run that 15 foot dimension across the bay and pick the length to match the depth. If you fall between two sizes, order up. Trimming a few inches is easy. Coming up a foot short is not.
Common questions
Can I cut it myself?
Yes. A sharp utility knife and a straight edge from the back side. Cut it slightly long and trim to fit rather than cutting to the exact number.
Does it need glue or tape?
Not for a single room-size piece. Seaming two pieces together is where seam tape and adhesive come in, and that is worth a call before you order.
How do I cut cups into it?
A cup cutter, or trace the liner and cut with a knife. The hole gets cut once the turf is laid and settled, not before.
Will it work outdoors?
Yes, over a base that drains. Outdoors you will usually want sand infill for ballast and to hold the pile upright.
